“Tyang Amy” trended on Twitter as netizens reacted to the interview of TV Host Amy Perez with LTO Director Atty. Clarence Guinto.
It was recalled that starting February 2, 2021, children aged 12 years old and below are now prohibited from taking the front seats in private vehicles. They should use a child restraint systems (CRS) or car seats as part of full implementation of the Child Safety in Motor Vehicles Act or the Child Car Seat Law. Those who are 12 years old and below and are shorter than 4’11″ may use the regular seat belt.

In a short video shared by ABS-CBN journalist Jeff Canoy on his Twitter account, he shared the said interview of Amy with Atty. Guinto. Amy asked Atty. Guinto “ang tanong direktor, kung ang 12 years old po ninyo ay sobrang tangkad at siya po ay lalagyan ng booster, so aangat po yun direktor. Tatama ang ulo sa kotse. Hindi po ba mas delikado yun? Kapagka nagkaruon po tayo ng aksidente?”
To which Atty. Guinto answered “tama po yun, siguro ma’am Amy laki-lakihan mo yung sasakyan mo.” Amy reacted as she said “ay wala po akong ganun….. ang pinaguusapan po naten dito direktor Guinto ay yung karamihan po saating mga kapamilya. Na kailangan din po nateng iconsider po yuon.”
Atty. Guinto answered “hayaan mo at ah…… we will take note of that.”
