TV and radio broadcaster Arnold Clavio was heavily criticized by netizens for the remarks he made during his interview with Angela Jardin, a resident from Provident Village, who together with five other people was stuck on the third floor of her flooded home at the height of Typhoon Ulysses.
“Bakit diyan pa rin kayo na alam niyo na lubog noong Ondoy?” said Arnold. Co-host Ali Sotto on the other hand said : “Kunwari kapag naghahanap kayo ng lilipatan, hindi mo ba natanong, ‘Kamusta noong Ondoy?’”
Some netizens felt the remarks made were inappropriate since Angela was asking for help. Some even branded it as ‘victim blaming.’
