“MYMP” trends online: “This is why we need that anti discrimination law e”

Acoustic band MYMP (Make Your Mama Proud) received backlash from netizens after their online performance last October 30, 2020. It seemed that the band received backlash from netizens due to band member, Chin Alcantara over his remarks on ‘Black Lives Matter’.

One netizen posted on Twitter a short video taken during their online performance to which Chin said “saakin lang, Wag niyo pansinin yung mga nagcocomment na ‘educate yourselves,’ ‘Black Lives Matter.’ Kalokohan ang ‘Black Lives Matter.’ All lives matter. Yun, kasi sinisingle out niyo lang eh. ‘Black Lives Matter’ of course yung life din naten, hindi naman tayo black.”
