ABS-CBN film outfit Star Cinema has decided to drop the much awaited “Darna” project as part of the company’s business realignment decision after the Kapamilya network failed to secure a new franchise from Congress.
It’s a business decision according to an article published by Pep.ph that is why the company decided to shelved the “Darna” project.
The iconic “Darna” was first played by Angel Locsin, then it went to Liza Soberano and now with Jane De Leon. Both Angel and Liza had to begged off due to health reasons. It was reported that Jane had already started filming but due to the franchise woes of ABS-CBN and the coronavirus pandemic, the project was put on hold.
Jane underwent extensive training for the Darna role.
